As well as offering support to colleagues, the personal advantages can be significant in terms of training, confidence building and providing variety from the usual work routine. first point of contact for members - liaise with members who are contacts.
recruit new members
work with members to establish organised workplace.
support and advise members, both individually and collectively
act as spokesperson for members, inform and involve in branch activities.
represent members with employers, dependent upon experience, in liaison with Service Condition Officers.
represent members within the branch committee and to be answerable to the members they represent.
undertake relevant training for the role (with paid time-off)
attend branch committee meetings
have access to noticeboard for UNISON flyers/information sheets in workplace.
attendance at, and encouragement of other members to attend, the Annual General Meeting.
