Political Funds
Introduction
Like most unions, UNISON campaigns politically. Uniquely UNISON has two political funds:
- The General Political Fund is used for UNISON political campaigns that are independent of any party link.
- The Affiliated Political Fund is used to support political activity within the Labour Party.
Members of UNISON can choose to pay part of their subscription to either the General or Affiliated Political Fund. Members also have the right to contribute to neither.
Labour Link
Members who contribute to the Affiliated Political Fund are entitled to elect a Branch Labour Link Officer. They can also chose to affiliate to the local Labour Party.
