Moray Council Budget Options Consultation

With reductions in funding from the Scottish Government expected Moray Council has announced a range of budget options to produce savings. Staff who could potentially be affected are currently being informed and consultation with unions and staff is now ongoing. A public consultation where services delivery is affected will commence later in October and the process will finish on 3 December 2010. After this council officials will collate responses and present these to councillors. Staff who are likely to be affected will then be formally notified and statutory consultation will commence, with final decisions being taken in February 2011 and affected staff leaving from March to May 2011.

Moray UNISON will be submitting a response but in order to do so we need information from members. By receiving details we can analyse if savings are likely to be as great as predicted, and whether members of the public will be unduely affected by service cuts. If you are concerned as to how you will be affected, or have information you wish to pass on then please contact the Branch Office on 01343 563 170 or unison@moray.gov.uk.
