Moray UNISON - Scottish councils impose pay offer

Scottish councils impose pay offer

Earlier this year COSLA offered a pay deal giving just 1.5% over 3 years to Scottish Local Government Employees. In a consultative ballot UNISON members rejected this overwhelmingly. We appreciate that finances are difficult, however expecting workers to stomach what could well be a 10% pay cut, in real terms at the current rate of inflation is insulting.

Having previously rejected suggestions that a greater percentage increase could be given to those on lower salaries COSLA has now decided to punish all workers by offering a derisory 0.65% this year followed by a 2 year pay freeze. UNISON and the other trade unions will now consider what action to take in response.
