Having previously offered a paltry increase of 1.5% over 3 years COSLA has now decided to impose an offer of less than half that, with a 0.65% rise followed by a two year pay freeze.

Moray UNISON Branch AGM will take place at Elgin City FC Social Club on 2nd March at 6:30pm. All members are encouraged to attend.

Moray Unison's 2009 AGM will be in the Gallery, Elgin Library on 3rd March. Business will commence at 18:30 with a buffet available from 18:00 onwards. All members are strongly encouraged to attend.
UNISON Local Government Members in Scotland narrowly voted to accept the pay offer of 3% this year and 2.5% next year. Although Unite and GMB have not accepted this offer The Moray Council have in the meantime agreed to pay workers the 3% rise backdated to April 2008 pending a final agreement.
Following the 2 strikes earlier this year COSLA have put forward an offer of 3% this year and 2.5% next year. The deadline for the ballot on this offer is the 12th November. For more information click here.
Unison members across Moray went out on strike today over a woefully inadequate pay offer. With severe distruption caused to a number of vital council services including several schools an important message was sent that a pay cut will not be tolerated by workers who provide public services. A big thank you to all members who went out on strike - your support is greatly appreciated. A more detailed report can be found here.
