I'm very pleased to report that at last we have some members in Moray College who are willing to take an active role in the union. Eric Mclean has been Health & Saftey Officer for a long time - recruiting others has been difficult. Well done to those who came forward.
News has reached me today that UNISON has not appointed anyone to cover Emma Phillips' maternity cover in Aberdeen despite two attempts to recruit for the posts and three people being interviewed. Emma is the Regional Organiser who provides support and advice to this branch and others in the North - she's on mat leave from next Friday.
This is a sorry state of affairs and unfair on the staff who are left trying to cover as well as the Branches who are left with limited support. Time for UNISON to get its act together on this one!
